About Susan

SHE DID WHAT?

Susan first shaved her head and donated her long hair to cancer patients as a tribute to her mom who died of cancer in 1995.  It was so easy to maintain, she decided to keep her now signature look.

2.

SHE CAN RUB TWO STICKS TOGETHER AND ACTUALLY MAKE FIRE.

Susan created and managed a nonprofit organization to teach wilderness skills to at-risk youth and co-authored a multi-million-dollar federal grant to help support it.  She authored Ready or Not - A Disaster Survival Handbook.

3.

AT ONE POINT SHE LOST EVERYTHING.

Susan was once wiped out financially, the result of a frivolous lawsuit and a corrupt local judicial system.  She ultimately won on appeal.  She survived and the experience gave her a deep appreciation for businesses and individuals who struggle to make a go of it in an increasingly perilous economy.

4.

SHE HAS LIVED IN FOUR DIFFERENT COUNTRIES WITH DIFFERENT CULTURES.

Susan was born in Great Britain and relocated to Panama with her family when she was 14.  She graduated high school in the Canal Zone and subsequently traveled throughout Central America and the Southeast Asia.  Susan speaks fluent "American" and "British."

5.

SHE IS MORE OF A SCHOLAR THAN YOU MIGHT THINK.

Susan received her Associates Degree in 1975 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree from San Diego State University in 1979.
